During the construction and maintenance of forest access roads, site specific measures are taken to protect water quality and aquatic habitat.  Wooded strips are maintained along rivers and around lakes to maintain wildlife habitat and preserve the esthetic value to the area.

Lewis Hills is the highest point in Newfoundland with an elevation of 2672' (814.64 meters) providing a viewer with some of the most majestic landscapes on the island.
